Why Bauhausfrau?  Because I’m a stay at home mom who likes the band and I love a good play on words.

When I found a drawing of “ladies in costume” I made at about age 9 I realized that I’ve  been into costuming for far longer than I thought…but I started to get serious about it sometime in the early 90’s as part of my involvement with the Greater Bay Area Costumer’s Guild, the San Francisco Cacophony Society and Burning Man — and I never stopped.

My main passions in costuming are what I call the “big butt” eras – 1870s-1880s and 1770s-1780s although I’ve been known to dabble in other eras and have a fondness for media recreations as well.
